, WHO WE ARE
BABRIC Life Science Innovations™ is a start-up medical device Company focused on creating advanced technologies for the Healthcare Profession.
BABRIC™ is currently concentrating on developing its CompToLifeTM Technologies , relating to:
and methods for retrofitting and adapting notebook, laptop, and tablet computers to
enable each to be used as an automated external defibrillator (AED), and
as a manual defibrillator.
» Adaptation of the common notebook, laptop computer, and tablet computer through direct embedding of AED capabilities to enable each to be used as an automated external defibrillator (AED) to treat victims of sudden cardiac arrest.
» Additional Pending Patents.
The newly released American Heart Association - Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics --- 2015 Update: suggests that each year, approximately 326,200 people (320,157 adults and 6,328 children) experience EMS-assessed out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the United States. The average survival rate is 10.6% and survival with good neurologic function is 8.3%. Survival after bystander-witnessed VF (Ventricular Fibrillation) was 33%.
These statistics validate and reinforce the need for additional technologies to expand the status quo.
Key in the process of resuscitation is the immediate initiation of quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and the early use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) by bystanders pending arrival of professional rescuers.
By providing quick and easy access to reliable computer/AEDs, BABRIC's Technologies have the prospects for supplying a critically needed addition and complement to the "current state of the art", which is Public Access Defibrillation (PAD), or automated external defibrillators (AEDs) placed in airports and other transportation centers, schools, large shopping malls, sports complexes, large industrial sites, and other public places. BABRIC's CompToLife devices will serve to increase the overall availability and ready access to vitally needed defibrillators by both medical professionals and the general public.
BABRIC's CompToLife Technologies, through universal availability of reliable Computer/AED Devices and widespread training of the public, have the potential for markedly impacting current statistics.
To start, the Company sees ideal "fits" for its CompToLife Technologies with rugged laptops and tablets used in the field; such as by first responders, the military, and in government, sports, and industry. And, utilizing its manual defibrillator option, with Mobile Clinical Assistants (MCAs); rapidly increasing in use by physicians, nurses, and other medical support staff, with the current trend toward electronic medical records (EMRs).
BABRIC is currently preparing to move forward with the development of its innovative Technologies through the engineering and prototyping of several of its numerous CompToLife Devices.
BABRIC Life Science Innovations has additional technologies currently under development relating to Low Vision Assistive Devices.
TONABA HealthScience, a Subsidiary of BABRIC Life Science Innovations, has innovative technologies for detecting the silent rupture of breast implants.
