According to the American Heart Association, each year approximately 424,000 individuals in the United States suffer an episode of out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrest (OHCA); now the third-leading cause of death behind cancer and non-sudden cardiovascular deaths.  The AHA 2014 Update states that more than 1,000 people suffer non-traumatic cardiac arrest outside  hospitals---including 26 children---each day in the U.S..  Overall survival rates are approximately ten percent.  Among young victims, the survival rate is about five percent. 

Key in the process of resuscitation is the immediate initiation of quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and the early use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) by bystanders pending arrival of professional rescuers.

By providing quick and easy access to reliable computer/AEDs, BABRIC's Technologies have the prospects for supplying a critically needed addition and complement to the "current state of the art", which is Public Access Defibrillation (PAD), or automated external defibrillators (AEDs) placed in airports and other transportation centers, schools, large shopping malls, sports complexes, large industrial sites, and other public places.  BABRIC's Comp-To-Life devices will serve to increase the overall availability and ready access to vitally needed defibrillators by both medical professionals and the general public.  

BABRIC's Comp-To-Life Technologies, through universal availability of reliable Computer/AED Devices, and widespread training of the public, have the potential for markedly impacting current statistics.

To start, the Company sees ideal "fits" for its Comp-To-Life Technologies  with rugged laptops and tablets used in the field; such as by first responders, the military, and in government, sports, and industry.  And, utilizing its manual defibrillator option, with Mobile Clinical Assistants (MCAs); rapidly increasing in use by physicians, nurses, and other medical support staff, with the current trend toward electronic health records (EHRs).
